Physical and Chemical Properties | Chemical properties colorless crystal. Melting point 81 ℃. Boiling point 286 ℃,146.3 ℃(1.33kPa). Easily soluble in ethanol, ether, petroleum ether, slightly soluble in water. It can volatilize with water vapor and is easily oxidized into sulfide in the air. Has a disgusting smell. |
Use | Use in the rubber industry as a regeneration activator, suitable for low temperature use, but the activation effect is not as good as the Mang group disulfide, and the reclaimed rubber has an unpleasant smell. General dosage of 0.1-1.5%, the product can also be used as antioxidant, plasticizer and organic synthesis of intermediates. 2-naphthol toxic, can cause dermatitis and ulcers. |

production method
first, 2-naphthol and dimethylaminothioformyl chloride are reacted in the presence of alkali to prepare O-2 naphthyldimethylaminothioformate, which is refined and heated to 270-275 ℃ for 45min. After cooling, add the mixture of potassium hydroxide solution and ethylene glycol, and heat and reflux for 1h. After hydrochloric acid, chloroform extraction, subtractive extraction, and reduced pressure distillation, 2-naphthalene thiophenol is obtained.
